A great Sunday of live electronic music in perspective this weekend
Choose any date during the summer, and you can choose from many parties, catering to different tastes, at multiple clubs. Just a glance at our holiday calendar equally confirms. Those who want to party are really spoiled for choice.
That said, every year a handful of dates stand out as being extra special. It happens Sunday September 4 is one of them.
Although Ibiza has a reputation for loving DJ culture, this weekend another kind of performer takes center stage.
When most people think of “live music,” they probably think of a traditional singer or a band with a singer, guitarist, and drummer. But electronic music can also be played live and some the biggest groups in the industry are all on the island on the same day.
Pyramid | Amnesia | 23:00 – 06:30
In the footsteps of the Chemical Brothers, Orbital and Underworld, Biceps are no doubt the biggest live electronic band on the planet right now. After playing a DJ set at Amnesia last season (2019), the duo returned, but this time performing their own live material.
Sunday Night Underground Shrine Pyramid this is where everything will fall apart. Attendees can expect Matt and Andy to recite their hits including Glue, Apricots and Opal, as well as some unreleased discs in preview so – we hope.
They are not alone for the occasion. Sensational hardware dynamo Twist will also join them on The Terrace. Known for his impressive improvisation, his interaction with the public and his scientific laboratory gadgets, the Bulgarian is a full-fledged artist which demands to be watched as well as listened to.
Next door, in the main hall, a live third and final act materializes in the form of a Dutch wonder Reinier Zonneveld. Label head Filth On Acid will work on sounds, from Disco to Trance, Acid to Techno and build huge dancefloor moments.
The night will also include DJ sets by Nina Kraviz, Marcel Dettmann, Special Request, Logic1000 and Airod. Here is a stacked line-up. BUY TICKETS AND MORE INFO
Ushuaia | 17:00 – 23:00
Maverick musician Paul Kalkbrenner has become a staple of Ushuaiathe opening and closing nights of, very often responsible for making the headlines. Crowd-drawing is made for stadium-sized festival stages – and the open-air party hotel in the heart of Playa d’en Bossa ticks that box.
Already appearing twice this summer, Kalkbrenner returns on September 4 for his own show.
Far from doing it alone, Kalkbrenner will not only be joined by the melodic master HOSbut additional support comes from colleagues extraordinary live act Stephan Bodzin.
Fellow German Bodzin is known for his dramatic and screwed-up take on techno music. Together, he and Paul will conjure up plenty of dancefloor euphoria, powerful drops and broken arpeggios to drive the crowd crazy as planes fly overhead.

Storytellers | Santa Cova | 17:00 – 06:00
Another outdoor party also has some kind of live show. This time we are with those spinners.
The special edition sees Frank Wiedemann, the live half of Metake center stage Cova Santa Claus. While his producing partner Kristian most often DJs as Soul, Frank’s appearances are less frequent and involve a completely different skill set.
Adding an extra dimension to this Soul live set will be the joker of triking. Frank’s Innervisions member will DJ as they take turns for a very unique performances.
We rarely see these adventurous combo sets, so there’s a lot of intrigue as to how it will turn out – a true example of music narration. Given the directory of each component, this could easily translate to the most talked about party of the summer.
Storytellers has always been a party that supports live music and DJs alike. In the past he has invited names such as Acid Pauli, Monolink, Jan Blomqvist, WhoMadeWho and Rodriguez Jr.
Although this one continues indoors downstairs from 11:00 p.m. until the early hours of the morning, we recommend arrive early to enjoy the outdoor fun. BUY TICKETS AND MORE INFO
We expect all of these parties to be popular. On the contrary, it is a pity that they all fall on the same day. While hitting two is perfectly doable, hitting all three would be a tall order, but we reckon there are a few hardcore clubbers up for the challenge. Are you one of them?
Information on all the parties that will take place this summer can be found on our party guide.
