Alcatraz Festival 2022 lineup announced including Cannibal Corpse, Enslaved, The Black Dahlia Murder and more

The Alcatraz festival resumes in 2022 after a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They also just announced the lineup on their Facebook page, with artists such as Cannibal Corpse, Enslaves and many more. The festival, which is due to take place on August 12, 13 and 14, 2022 in Kortrijk, Belgium, has announced a slew of death and black metal bands that are set to take off and perform. This is just the first announcement from many, with the Facebook post stating, “We will share the names of all confirmed acts for Alcatraz 2022 over the next five days.”

Notable Cannibal Corpse released a new album this year titled Unsuspected violence, which mxdwn writer Cait Stoddard wrote a review on: “New York death metal band Cannibal Corpse is back with their album Unsuspected violence, and each track is filled with non-stop music that can make people dance while listening. George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher’s voice is strong and powerful, combined with the guitar playing of Rob Barret and Erik Rutan, gives each track energizing notes. Alex Webster’s bass guitar screams vibrant riffs, and Paul Mazurkiewicz’s drumming contributes to this record’s constant craziness. If fans want to listen to hard-hitting death metal music, Unexpected violence will meet their expectations. Enslaved has also released an EP and will be touring in 2022, which makes this festival perfect for their installation.
