Audio-Technica joins the ranks of wireless in-ear headphones and they’re winners –
Audio-Technica has released the ATH-CKS50TW. A great set of earbud-style wireless headphones that don’t break the bank.
Are you dizzy not knowing which Bluetooth headphones to buy? Did you just lose your 10th audio connector to Lightning cable? Audio-Technica has you covered with its wireless headphones, ATH-CKS50TW.
I know the name has a lot of letters, but the list of functions of the ATH-CKS50TW is even longer. We took them for a spin on some of our favorite tracks, read on to find out more about the features and experience.
The ATH-CKS50TW wireless headphones have it all. 50 hours of battery life, fast charging, noise canceling mode, listen function, microphone with controls, excellent bass drivers and many other functions that I could bore you with, but know that these are the good things you want in the intra-auricular department.
When pairing and inserting these comfortable headphones into my ears, I was pleasantly surprised by the one thing they keep talking about, the low end. It’s really warm and solid. In fact, I could totally drown out the noisy office trying to get their work done on a Friday and enjoy listening to one of our Live from Happy videos that we recorded and mixed here at Happy Studios.
The performance I chose to listen to on the ATH-CKS50TW was Blain Cunneen – Feelin’ Kinda Fragile because they bought a bass guitar and a Rhodes keyboard – both instruments that have bass. I was really impressed at first with the clarity and the perfect fit of the wireless headphones. I ended up with a lot of headroom, which meant I had to lower the helmet.
While listening, I inspected the case, tried to put it in my jacket pocket, my pants pocket, and just pondered its size and feel. It’s a good size considering, but I wonder if the case could be smaller. The case charges the headphones while they are seated inside of course.
Thinking more about long-term use, I researched battery life online and found that they far beat many other brands…or hands-free, I should say. Maybe the case is a bit bigger due to the extra charging component inside?
Speaking of which, the ATH-CKS50TW connects to multiple devices at once! I haven’t tried it, but I’m constantly disconnecting devices and reconnecting devices and finding crossed wires in Bluetooth connections…and can you say that bothers me? So thank you Audio-Technica. It’s a neat addition.
I’m really impressed with the price, as accessory prices are spiraling out of control these days. They come at $199 AUD.
