Jake Hertzog Trio will perform at Live at the Five & Dime
The fourth season of the “Live at the Five & Dime” outdoor concert series continues Thursday August 5 with the Jake Hertzog Trio, featuring Jake Hertzog (guitar), Garrett Jones (bass) and Anthony Ball (drums) ).
Concerts are free and take place every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside the Walmart Museum on Bentonville Square.
The Jake Hertzog Trio is a jazz / rock band that has released five albums and has been headlining like the Blue Note in New York and the Salo Jazz Festival in Finland. Under the alias Hey Jazz Guy, Hertzog has contributed over 30 articles to Guitarist the “Lessons” section of the magazine. Guitarist nicknamed him “the ambassador of jazz in the non-jazz world”. Hertzog also won the grand prize in the guitar competition of the Montreux Jazz Festival 2006.
Additionally, Hertzog is an Assistant Professor in the Music Department at the U of A.
“Live at the Five & Dime” offers free weekly concerts until October 7th. The concerts are a collaboration between the U of A Department of Music, the Walmart Museum and Downtown Bentonville Inc. The performances feature many professors, students and other artists connected to the U of A music department.
