The Slag… A great new venue with some hot music… More music you can’t miss August 27-28 |
SHEFFIELD-Well, The Slag was a smash hit… although the weather meant the opposite, it went off with almost no problem other than a little rain, and lightning on the second night, the music was smoky and the crowd was to the beat of good music.
The place is a wonderland at night, full of food and drink and it will only get better! Friday night’s music brought the house down with the Pine Hill Haints starting up and putting the crowd in a stomping mood. Then Lucero with his southern style rock rock brought the show home. It was hot and on this Friday night the music was hot.
Saturday… well, Mother Nature wanted to stage herself with wind, rain, thunder and lightning… but the show was played out in acoustic style with Langhorne Slim playing a set filled with noise and fun. in the tent… closely and personally followed by Drew Holcomb and some of his friends in the marquee playing crowd favorites as they shouted whatever they wanted. The weekend was filled with excitement for the outdoor venue and the awesome tunes performed by four great bands.
All in all, The Slag will be a landing point and the start of good things for Sheffield and The Sholas as Inspiration Landing begins in earnest.
