As with “The Album Series Tour 2022”, which began in the United Kingdom last June, the American tour is dedicated to the end Alain Blanc-the band’s legendary drummer-after his passing last May (see the band’s quotes below about Alain). Before the start of the tour, a special tribute concert—“Alan White – Celebrating His Life and Music”– will take place October 2, 7:00 p.m. to Primal Theater in Seattle:

Alain Blanc joined YES in June 1972, a few days before their “Close to the Edge” The tour has started. Over the next 50 years, Alain would appear on each YES album including 2021’s The Quest. Following the global pandemic, he was looking forward to this tour and joining his bandmates on stage, something he lived for, as he approached his 50th anniversary of joining YES.

Unfortunately, this was not the case, but AlainThe imposing presence of will be omnipresent on the tour. Good friend of Alan, drummer Jay Schellenwill join YES for the next tour, alongside Steve Howe (guitars and choirs), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (lead vocals) and Billy Sherwood (bass guitar and backing vocals).

The “Close to the Edge” will include a full production and high-definition video wall directed by Andy Clark and featuring the work of Roger Dean.
